Lexi Bolger

Lexi Bolger is an undergraduate researcher at the University of Florida Department of Geological Sciences. Her research focuses on examining large benthic foraminifera from the Eocene-Oligocene transition period. She is currently majoring in Marine Sciences with a concentration in geology. In the summer of 2019, she did an REU at the University of Delaware and was encouraged by her mentor to pursue science communication.  In addition to research, Lexi is also involved in various outreach programs. She is Lead Mentor for the 2019-2020 PODEMOS initiative, an academic and professionalization initiative for first-year Hispanic-Latinx students offered by UF’s Department of Hispanic-Latino Affairs. She also volunteers for the Natural Resource Diversity Initiative, which seeks to educate grade school students typically underrepresented in STEM in the Gainesville community about the natural sciences.
